Supply staff
Since the new login and security changes with MINTclass, you have probably realised that how you use and create supply accounts will need to change.

Users now need a school email address and a password to log into MINTclass.  Iit may not be feasible for some schools to set up and give supply staff access to school email accounts we have created a work around.

Creating a new Supply user
If you log into MINTclass as an Admin user, click on Cortex and then on the Staff Admin screen click on Manually Create User you will see the pop-up as shown below.

Add Initials, for example, SUP1, SUP2 etc (max of 4 characters) then the account will need a name, for example, Supply One, Supply Two etc.

Now for the clever part.  They will, of course, need an email address to log in BUT, they do not need a valid email so you could use, for example, supply1@myschool.com (where myschool.com is the final part of your school email address) now click on save.

You will now see the new account

To activate the account, click on the Activate user Icon (looks like a person) under the tools heading and click on Yes Please.

You will now need to click on the Reset Activation icon (looks like a person) under the tools area.

Now, as the email account doesn’t actually exist you can’t send them an activation email so what you do is tell them the email address and then you hover over the box next to the text â€" Set user password.

You will then see the password for that account.  Give the supply teacher that code so they can access MINTclass.

If you have your external IP(s) whitelisted in the Security tab you can select the 2FA choice for them to Within School Only which by-passes the need for them to set up 2FA and they will not be able to access the account outside of school.

Once that supply teacher has left the building you can reset the password by clicking on the Reset Activation icon and use this account over and over again.

Updating an existing Supply user account
If you had set up your supply accounts before the change to the login procedures, you need to add an email address to those account(s) and you can then use them in the same way as described above.
