Lesson Nine - Student Data
Student Data
The data in MINTclass comes from your school MIS and should therefore be kept up to date there, however, there are times when you need to make a change to the data.

There are only certain areas of the student data that can be changed and most of the changes that you make from within MINTclass will be overwritten by the update from your school MIS overnight.

In Cortex, go to the Student tab and search for the student(s) that you need to edit. You can search by Gender, Form, Year or by the individual student's admission number.

Make the necessary changes and click on the tick to save these changes.

Note: Any changes made here will be overwritten when MINTclass is updated overnight. Information like this should be changed in your school's MIS.

Editing Student Grades
From the student screen in Cortex, click on the book icon to the right of the student name. You will now see a list of all the grades associated with that student. The grades displayed are those which have been mapped from your school MIS into MINTclass.

Adding Subjects
You can also add subjects and grades to a student record. This may be useful if you wish to record a grade for English Literature when the student is only timetabled for English.

st5

Click on the drop down arrow to the right of the student name to view all subjects the student is timetabled for. At the bottom of this list, you will see a combo box. Here you will be able to select an existing school subject and to the right are the blank boxes where you add the grades.

Select the appropriate subject from the combo box then enter the grades into the boxes. Click on the book to the right with the green plus sign to save the new entry.

Note: Any changes you make to grades will be overwritten when MINTclass is updated overnight. New subjects and data will not be overwritten unless the student has a result for this subject in your school MIS.
