Creating Versions

In MINTclass You have the option of saving up to three Versions of your seating plans. This function means you can save different seating plans for (ie) practical experiments or mock exams while still keeping your main seating plan unchanged. Each version can use the same or a different template as well as any arrangement of students you want.

Versions Bar

When you first click on ‘Version 2’ you will need to select a template, unless your school has already linked templates to rooms in which case you will be presented with a blank template.

When you hover over either of the other two versions you have the option to 'Copy' the content of that Version into the one currently selected.

Versions Bar
This will enable you to quickly copy your existing seat plan (with the same room template) and then you can manually shuffle students around or choose one of the options from the ‘Automatically Sort Students’ tab on the sidebar.

Note: Whichever version you set as your Default cannot be altered until you choose another version as a default- this is so you don't lose your main seating plan by mistake.

Changing Version Names

You can also rename Versions.  Click on the Version you wish to rename, let's say Version 2, and then Hover on the text (Currently says Version 2) and click on Rename.

Type a new name and click on Save Name

Lesson Links

Any lesson links you have will connect the three versions you have throughout all the linked classes. So if you make a change in your ‘version 2’ it will change it in all linked lessons. You may choose to have a different seating arrangement on your regular Thursday class so you may choose to call one version ‘Thursdays’.  For more details on linking lessons click here.

You may wish to choose a new template with a different seating arrangement or to manually add students. This will be the same process as previously used. For more tips see here on adding students to the class.
